Greetings, from the Central African nation of Gabon where God is on the move. This past year has been a wonderful example of God’s grace and commitment to the harvest field. We returned from Tucson conference refreshed and ready to see God move the church forward by His great plan.
We began 2011 with a New Converts Class. I was able to teach a couple of the classes in French for the first time. Both God and the people were gracious and by the end of the class we graduated six New Converts.
In March we were able to obtain permission from the government to bring in Pastor Morie Saffa from Cameroon. This was a big step forward for us since previously we had not been able to successfully bring in one of our pastor’s out of Sierra Leone. He came and preached a tremendous pastoral revival that connected very well with the people and locked in some of the outsiders.
The Easter season brought about another tremendous outreach opportunity. We had our Children’s Choir and our Adult Choir sing as part of the service. We then spent the afternoon at the beach to have a baptism and fellowship. Six people were baptized (3 of them were saved the same morning) including a 65 year old woman who grew up Catholic and finally got the revelation that her infant baptism was not sufficient. It was a glorious time experiencing the grace of God that saves people from every background of life.
The climax of our year was in May when Pastor Warner came to preach revival for us. As for every congregation it was both an honor and a blessing to have him. The addition of my father, Frank King was what put it over the top. He taught a parenting class on Saturday where we had more than thirty in attendance. Then Pastor Warner preached two messages in the evening for Men’s Discipleship Class. The revival was amazing from beginning to end. On the last night Pastor Warner preached his classic “Knowing the Father” sermon, of which the people are still testifying of its impact on their lives.
We want to thank the Tucson Congregation for their faithfulness to the harvest. Thank you Pastor Warner for entrusting us with this great privilege. Thank you Mona for your faithfulness to God, Pastor, and the ministry. Anyone who has been overseas knows the labor of love that you perform month in and month out for us and we thank you.
We wish we could be there with you this year but we will look forward instead to a wonderful reunion next year with many more testimonies of the grace of God working through your investment.
